I have been wanting to attend an immersive French course for some time, but found the perfect alternative during my holiday with Frederique. She is fun, kind and although instantly my friend, maintained a teacher student relationship at a professional level for me to learn from the start - she is a fab ‘Prof’! I had both online and face-to-face lessons with her and she intergrated into my life in such a way, that learning French became natural – I won’t say easy!! She was happy for my family to join in if they wished and wrote pages of notes with illustrations to help with my learning, explaining them as she went. We met for a ‘goodbye drink’ which we talked only in French – my husband sat there with his mouth open in wonder! The 15 hours we spent together has made a huge difference to my French both speaking, listening and understanding. I visit the Ile de Re each year and will continue my journey with Frederique then and hopefully some online in the meantime!

I was very fortunate to take lessons with Frédérique this summer in France. We sat in a small cozy cafe, working on grammar and vocabulary while discussing a wide range of topics each session. Frédérique took copious notes for me while we spoke (correcting all my errors) and I found myself learning so much - and wanting to learn even more. My 18yo daughter joined us during the second week, partly in preparation for her exams this year. She improved considerably over the course of the week and became more confident with each lesson. Frédérique is an excellent and experienced teacher whose lessons are delivered in a fun and relaxed manner - they were a very enjoyable part of our holiday this year and I certainly hope to continue them when I return.

La Couarde sur Mer - Ile de Ré

2024 July

My daughter Grace and I did french lessons with Frédérique in June 2024 during our holidays. The main purpose was to help Grace prepare for the Irish leaving certificate french exam. Frédérique was a wonderful teacher, she was welcoming, encouraging and kind. She was very well organised for our lessons, had prepared themes in line with what we needed and demonstrated a great passion and skill for teaching. She made written notes for us during the lesson based on this to reflect what we worked on. While we were learning we also had fun, there was a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere which was good as we were in holiday mode! I would highly recommend lessons with Frédérique to anyone. We will continue with some online lessons back in Ireland before the leaving certificate. Thank you Frédérique!

Frédérique was truly a ‘lifeline’ for me during my solo stay on Île de Ré in May 2024. She is a gifted teacher with an exceptional ability to patiently explain, teach and correct in a way that helped me grasp a concept, understand and learn. She has a deep knowledge of the French language and the nuances of its translation. Beyond this, Frédérique is simply a wonderful person - kind, relaxed, friendly, encouraging and supportive - and I always looked forward to our time together. I felt incredibly fortunate to have connected with her, and give her my highest recommendation.

We would highly recommend Frederique as a French teacher. She is charismatic and engaging and her approach of teaching through experiences is very effective. Our daughters learned so much through games, visits to the market and cooking local produce.

The girls left the beautiful Ile de Re with very fond memories of Frederique and much better French!

Frédérique was my French teacher during my summer vacation on l'Île de Ré. I was moving to France for work and needed to improve very quickly.

It was real luck to meet such a great professionnal : she loves French, she actually loves languages in general ; her approach to grammar is very structured and clear, it really helped me understand ( and never forget) many key principles ; she is fun and " sympa" but can be tough too, you wouldn't want to skip your homework.
